PRESS RELEASE

Request for Public Assistance Regarding
Home Invasion Robbery

On Wednesday, February 21, 2007, three armed gunmen forced their way into a home in the Elizabeth Estate area of St. Thomas, robbing and viciously beating the occupants. The victims were a married couple, ages 61 and 69, as well as a housekeeper, age 26, who reside at the Pinnacle Condominiums in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Three gunmen initially attempted to enter the residence under false pretenses, but later forced their way into the condominium. The couple and housekeeper were held at gunpoint for approximately one hour inside their residence during the robbery. The robbers demanded money and during a search of the residence found a combination safe. The couple was beaten and the robbers were able to eventually open the safe, stealing money and jewelry. The robbers then fled in the husband’s blue 2006 Lexus. The 2006 Lexus was later found by the Virgin Islands Police Department in another area on the island of St. Thomas.

The initial descriptions of the gunmen are three black males who are between 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall.

The FBI is assisting the Virgin Islands Police Department in this investigation. Anyone with information should contact the FBI, 24 hours a day at (787) 754-6000, or FBI Agent Martin Woods at (340) 715-6512.

The FBI is offering a reward for information which leads directly to the arrests and convictions of the individuals responsible for this robbery.
