PRESS RELEASE FBI AND POLICE ARREST BANK ROBBER
Today, the FBI and the Police of Puerto Rico arrested Felix Rosario-Perez, age 47, for allegedly robbing a Westernbank branch. He was arrested without incident. It is believed that Rosario-Perez entered the Westernbank this morning located in the Rexville Town Center, Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and robbed approximately $2,000.00 from the bank. It is alleged during the commission of the bank robbery that Rosario-Perez claimed he had a bomb. He then fled in a vehicle described as a white Chevrolet pick-up truck. A short time later, Rosario-Perez was located and arrested near the Jose Celeso Barbosa Public Housing Project in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Further investigation also revealed that the bomb allegedly alluded to by Rosario-Perez was a hoax bomb. Anyone with relevant information regarding this bank robbery may contact the FBI, 24 hours a day, at(787) 754-6000. This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Police of Puerto Rico (POPR)-Bank Robbery Unit. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Vernon Miles. The public is reminded that a complaint contains only charges and is not evidence of any guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial. The U.S. government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
